Lazy writing with great actors and wasted potential
I don't hate this season, but I have to admit that it lacks that COOL vibe and seems unnecessarily heavy compared to the previous one. We've been circling around the same villain since the beginning, and I kind of miss those exciting fights with small evil spirits. Most of the time is spent on fighting, Even though I love that part, the overall story is lacking which is needed to hold us to our seats. Even though the family of counters were established in S1, there's still room to explore and add new areas and directions for each character, after all, that's what any good writer is expected to do. Plus, the new counter is neither exciting nor useful at all and his background or powers don't add much to the story. Also, none of the counters matured much throughout the season. The villains introduced in this season were just plain evil & annoying, they don’t have any reason to be like that which is irritating, in S1 Even the villain had a back story which helped us connect to the drama. Leads aimlessly fighting the SAME evil spirits throughout the drama is boring and is an example of lazy writing.
This season they made "So Moon" as the lead and the rest were supposed to protect him and back him up most of the time??....Season 2 was supposed to proceed on the base laid in Season 1 where every counter was equally important and had their own essential part to play with their unique strengths.....Despite being an avid fan of "So Moon" I love the counters as a whole but unfortunately they were neglected from my pov.
Still, I would recommend watching it as you will enjoy it if you love action dramas but go without the expectations of season 1

Most dissappointing sequel
This season is a total waste! I did not expect this storyline. You add additional counter with no improvement and very annoying! Other Team member would respond after fight and they dont connect with the team if they encounter the evil. So annoying and dissapponting. The season 1 is superb and i am expecting the same vibe or more but this season sucks! If you want to see this sequel better monitor your blood pressure because it will make you angery all the time with the annoyance it madeConsiderați utilă această recenzie?
Could be Better
To be honest, this second season is disappointing for me, and this is coming from a TUC S1 die-hard fan who went around telling everyone to watch TUC 2 years ago.A lot of things could be removed/added/improved to make the sequel a lot better, but well, it already happened. It’s useless to say anything contradictory to this drama at this point.
I finished this only for the original counters (they carried the show).
Things I’m not satisfied about:
1. The new counter, Jeokbong’s character showing no significant development.
2. The story focused too much on the evil spirits’ plot.
3. The piano guy made appearance in the finale - no significant reason, IMO. Closure? He already had his closure after what Hana did to save him.
4. The writers deciding not to develop Hana-Somun relationship dynamics further, after they started it first in S1 - a big loss. As more than half of TUC fandoms are their shippers.
Overall, 7/10 from me (10/10 for season 1)

Uncanny Disappointment
Was looking forward to season 2 and hoping for great things after season 1 but was disappointed. Much weaker storyline and the addition of Yoo In Soo the extra counter was a waste of time. Main villian started well but became boring by episode 5 lacked any threat was more intrested in killing then soul taking. early episodes were a bit silly. The action was good with some great effect and CGI. Kang Ki Young once again gave a outstanding performance with a limited script .Cho Byeong Kyu acting this time round was not belivieable in the main role.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
A killer continuation!
Season 2 is an absolute hidden treasure despite what others say, going from season 1 to season 2 directly doesn't seem like a different story or characters and people who say otherwise are blinded by the nostalgia factor. I rewatched season 1 before starting season 2 and rewatched the entire thing (both season 1 and 2) and I don't think the writing declined at all, it's the same as season 1 was, so the issue is maybe the fact there's less story -- or deviations of -- no big political conspiracy or random evil spirits popping up during the main conflict.Still, I think it's unfair to call the continuation "disappointing" as it truly is good and deserves more recognition. It unveils a brand-new narrative teeming with fresh conflicts and intricacies that stand entirely on their own. The characters gracefully navigate through a challenging fallout with Mun's firefighter friend, which allows Mun to evolve and grow even stronger within his extraordinary family dynamic.
Jeok Bong's endearing clumsiness becomes a guiding light that carries the counters through their darkest hours and even he is aware of that. People criticizing him fail to understand this comes from a manga and the character is the same way there as well. If there's a season 3, I'm sure they might take more effort into giving more depth to him, but season 2 delivered what the source material gave them.
The radiant chemistry between So Mun and Ha Na as a younger brother and older sister duo shines brilliantly.
I couldn't help but imagine the exhilaration if Gelly, Wong Yeok, and Pil Kwang had joined the counters or if the Yung territory had flowed effortlessly through So Mun's very being, as depicted in the manga. But I still think it was very good!
The seamless fusion of humor, action, and well-crafted storytelling in Season 2 provides ample space for each element to thrive without overwhelming or causing frustration. It beautifully retains the delightful charm of Season 1, making the second season an effortlessly enjoyable and breezy watch.
To the extraordinary and unparalleled uncanny family, I extend my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering dedication and hard work. I'll miss you! <3

confused by negative reviews..
Beginning this review is somewhat challenging, but I started watching the first season out of mild curiosity. While I didn't feel as emotionally connected to it as some of my favorite shows, I found it enjoyable and would often tune in during my free time. When I embarked on the second season, I was delighted to see one of my favorite actors, Insoo, which played a significant role in my decision to continue. The initial episodes felt a bit slow and somewhat obligatory to watch, but not necessarily in a bad way. However, as I progressed through the season, I unexpectedly became deeply engrossed. In my opinion, the second season marked a substantial improvement. Around the halfway point, I became so emotionally invested that I developed an almost obsessive urge to keep watching. Now that I've finished, I'm feeling a sense of sadness that it's over, but I truly loved the ending. The character development throughout the many episodes was exceptional, and I have grown fond of the cast. I hold this season in high regard and have a great affection for the show. It's a remarkable watch, and I wish I had taken more time to delve into each episode.

Actioned packed but not much story
With the first season being fantastic, season 2 had a expectations and for the most part, it was’t reached.Highly enjoyed the actions and the fight scenes, but other than that, there really isn’t much.
The addition of a new counter is was EXTREMELY useless imo, he was essentially a comedic relief and another gps ; which is funny considering hana and mun already had abilities that detected evil spirits, and his overall story was very lacking. His character added nothing to the story.
A lot of plot holes were evident with the juseok’s character and generally the latter half of the drama involving juseok and mr hwang, and I feel like they just took importants parts from the webtoon (although I did not read) and expected it to just work - which it clearly didnt because they even said in the drama that they don’t know why juseok was so powerful.
I did enjoy the ending containing Mun going abroad to teach other counters and generally liked the ending.
Giving somewhat of a high mark because I love how its the same cast, and JBG remaining as a main lead - he is so fine haha
Season 2 is definitely lacking in every aspect but if you solely enjoy action ; its enjoyable.

Esperei tanto tempo...
Para começar temos o enredo arrastado que não saí do lugar;
Outro ponto é que criaram vilões ótimos e não souberam introduzir direito na história;
Esse casal aleatório tirado do fundo do poço também me deixou frustrada, senti que só queriam colocar algo a mais na história e jogaram os dois de qualquer jeito. Não consegui shippar, pulava as cenas todas, parecia tortura;

Disappointment to a big fan of season 1.
After watching season 1 in summer 2021 I became a huge fan of the show. I loved everything about it: the plot, the acting, the ost, the cast... you name it! So of course I was waiting for season 2. I read the webtoon and constantly looked for updates about the production.November 2022 we get some of the first news I think about the filming starting, 29th of July 2023 the show starts. How was it?
A little disappointment to be honest. From the usual plotline full of emotions from season 1, season 2 felt like a try hard comedy. No hate towards that, but that's what it gave the show its distinct spark. The acting was good, on point, the ost as well, but there were many things that annoyed to be honest. Let me name them!
- The romance between So Mun and Hana. After they've hinted at it the whole season 1, they just forgot about it and added a random love interest for Hana. All the potential she had with Mun... WASTED. They had the chemistry, the storyline, but decided to randomly forget about them. Really? And I am sure that's what most of us were waiting for.
- The villains. In season 1 we had villains with deep backgrounds, especially Ji Cheongshin (Amazing portrayal of the character). This season it felt like all demons were superficial. All they wanted to show through them was that they were cool. Dumb move in my opinion.
- Yoo Insoo's character, cute guy, a little annoying, quite useless I'd say - could have made his character way better. I don't know why they added him...
The list can go on, but I'll stop here.
I don't think I'll rewatch season 2. I watched it as it aired and never felt the need to do so even now, almost a year later. I rewatched season 1 many times before, but after season 2 I was left overall with a bitter taste. Well, I guess season 1 will remain as a nice memory of my teens. I appreciate all the cast working hard on making s2 happen. I don't know what made the show go this bad direction, a theory of mine is the change of writers during season1. But I guess we'll never know the truth.
And for those wondering why my rating is so high... I don't really give low ratings... ever. And it would hurt if I gave such a low rating to a show that I loved so much.

《How about the storyline, the videography and Costume?》When compared to season 1, season 2 is a bit boring because it only has four demon spirits even though the story is tense. Their method of delivery and objectives are still clear like season 1.
The videography quality same as season 1.
Their is a new costume from red to be black and I more like the new one.
《What's the most interesting?》
Have a new member and new advantages is smelling demon spirits, quite weird but I can get it.
So Mun is So Mun. He was really good at conquering the demons at the end of the episode and setting a new record. The Yung nation is very proud of So Mun for this achievement that they never expected.
《Why is it bad?》
Nothing bad. If someone says that, it means you are not suitable for watching the supernatural and fantasy genre. Please exit through the door over there.
《What about the actor/actress?》
They all worked really well and their acting didn't change at all from season 1. Their characteristics and way of thinking are the same as if this were really a continuing story.
The right choice for staff does not replace the main actor and side actor. It's just that they need someone possessed by a demon with better acting like they were completely crazy and under the influence of a powerful demon.

Writing that pulls the season down
Hey everyone, welcome back to the K-drama study. Last time I reviewed the historical drama Joseon Attorney: A Morality. It was a show that was decent but still had some enjoyable moments. Today, I'll discuss the second season of The Uncanny Counter. Now, before I jump into the show, I'll give you a small recap review talking about my thoughts on season one before I share my thoughts on Season two.Season One Recap Review:
The inaugural season of that particular show was an absolute delight to watch. The writing was top-notch, and it was evident that a lot of hard work had gone into it. While it is true that there were some minor issues with the drama, they did not detract from the overall enjoyment of the show. If my memory serves me correctly, I gave it a C rating due to a few areas where it could have been improved. Nonetheless, it was still a great season that left an indelible mark on me.
Season 2 Review:
Story:
The latest addition to the counter team in this show was not a strong character. They didn't bring much value to the team, and their ability to smell spirits could have been more useful. Furthermore, their character development needed to be improved, and they didn't add much to the fight scenes. I wonder why the writers decided to introduce a new member to the group. Additionally, Somun's personality seemed off in this season, which was a letdown. It was also disappointing to see the relationship between Dohwi and Hana come to an end. Nonetheless, the evil spirits were a bright spot, although a backstory for them would have been nice. Despite some pacing issues, the fight scenes were still engaging, and the family dynamic remained intact. Overall, season 2 didn't live up to the standards set by season 1. However, the ending did provide some closure, which was appreciated.
I found the soundtracks for this season to be pretty decent. However, out of all the tracks, only one ballad left a lasting impression on me. That particular track was Sejeong's soundtrack, undoubtedly my personal favorite. The vocals were simply breathtaking, and I couldn't resist listening to it on loop. Another song I enjoyed was "& Turn," which was created specifically for the show; although, I didn't get to hear it as frequently as I would have liked. Overall, I preferred the soundtracks from season 1, as I recall listening to them repeatedly when they were initially released.
I would have to give season 2 a lower grade of C. The writing could have been better and made the show less enjoyable. While the characters were satisfactory, adding the new counter brought little to the table. I don't know if I would want to see a season 3, but if it does happen, I truly hope the writing is of higher quality and brings back the same feeling as season 1. In the meantime, I have decided to watch A Time Called You and will provide an in-depth review once the show has concluded.
