The show started off really well, and I really loved some of the endings of the episodes. Each character has his/her chance in the spotlight, where we get to find out more about their mysterious backstories. Unfortunately, there are also some plot holes and befuddling character behaviour that don't get explained or resolved by the end of the show. Actually, because each show ranged from 80-90 minutes, the 12-episode length (shorter than normal) does not explain why these holes could not be resolved properly. Some parts of the story towards the end moved so slowly that I got a bit bored.
Junhyung (of B2ST fame) did a surprisingly good job portraying his idol star character. Ha Yeon Soo is now the Next Big Thing, and Kang Haneul, you are such a HOTTIE. The ensemble cast as a whole makes for a cute watch, but it's the characters' stories that are compelling.
Any rewatch value would probably come from the funny and "d'awww" moments of reconciliation and bromance.
I love the music in this show - to date I didn't know Korean music had such a rich history of meaningful songs and diverse artists and bands. And there were some very sweet songs written for this show. For a show centred on music, it sure delivered on its soundtrack!
Overall a cute watch but not groundbreaking.

Cast: I really believed that Junhyung did a good job portraying emotions. But the whole cast, it was kind of awkward to watch at first, but then you get used to it. They were great for being rookies.
Music: The point of the whole drama was to bring music (since it was from Mnet) into it and I think Monstar did it really well.
Overall: For me, Monstar was just a very light drama to watch. It's a drama to help you pass time and to be entertained. It doesn't get too dramatic, and /if/ it does, it doesn't last long. I would recommend to watch if you have nothing to do and want to watch just a short cute and fun drama. It's all about the journeys that the characters went through from the beginning to the end.

In music drama there is always that one or two songs you get bored in. But all were perfect in Monstar!! Some made me super excited.
All the characters had very interesting stories and were interesting for me. I really laughed a lot thanks to Sul chan, Se yi and Kim NANA.
I really laughed a lot during this drama. It has been a while that I haven't seen such a good drama :D Thank you for existing >/////<

Apart from that, I think the cast is really good, especially Kang Ha Neul and Da Hee : they were deabak together! And at the end I liked everyone :)
The music is also totally awesome, all their covers are brilliant, both from ColorBar and All for One... I loved them :)
To sum up, it's a cute story, and a must-listen to!

Each of the students had interesting past and incredible unknown talents, plus thanks to the writer, this drama never let me look away for a second. The acting for rookies are great, especially Kang Ha Neul who plays Jung Seon Woo and Da Hee who plays Kim Na Na.
The music is good, but not the best. But it's still worth listening but some parts are amazing too.
Overall, this is a good drama and I will probably watch it until the end.
What are you doing? Hurry watch it now!

This drama is your typical drama I guess but in its own way it makes it different. acting is good, music is super bomb!:) it isn't draggy or boring at any parts, each character is and owns their own, FUN! scenes and characters. ..JUMP ON IT :)
some things i dont really like about it are that theres a love triangle, and sometimes the main character can get annoying and the storyline is a bit predictable
BUT if you love dramas with music and or stuff like heartstrings and dream high youd like this :)
the closest thing I could compare it to would be dream high but I reckon this is better than dream high personally, but dream high is a good drama
