Tak Dong-kyung (Park Bo-young), an editor for a web novel company, lives a fairly ordinary life until she stumbles into an unexpected fate. All in a single day, she finds out she is dying from glioblastoma and has only three months to live, learns that her boyfriend is a father-to-be and has a wife, gets scolded by her superior at work, and is spied on by a pervert before the pervert falls into a sinkhole.

Drinking her problems away, she happens to see a shooting star from her rooftop apartment and drunkenly wishes for the world to be doomed. Her wish is heard by Myul Mang (Seo In-guk), a messenger between gods and humans. He was born between dark and light: when he breathes, countries disappear; when he walks, the season's collapse; when he smiles, life is extinguished. All he has to do is exist for something to fall into ruin. This is not his intention but simply his fate. On his birthday, he gets to choose a human’s wish to fulfill. Sick of his fate, he chooses to fulfill Dong-kyung’s wish to end the world.

Dong-kyung ends up signing a hundred-day contract with Myul Mang, risking her everything.

There are a lot of actors we need back on our screens and Seo In Guk is one of them.

In “Doom at your Service” Seo In Guk played the role of the male lead and deity of destruction titled Myul Mang. Fun fact; Myul Mang literally means destruction or doom in Korean.

The drama wastes no time in letting us realize how much power Myul Mang has. In the drama's first scenes, we are shown just how powerful he is, with his favorite acts: manipulation, dream control, and our own personal – He being the reason for every destruction that happens and will ever occur.

This character made its way quickly to my most favorite Korean drama character.

Overall, this was my favorite drama of the year. I know that the majority of people didn’t like the second half of the drama but I loved all of it. The final episode could have given us a wedding or something more but still, that doesn’t change the fact that this drama was everything! I also loved some of the parallels with Goblin. Especially the scene where Muyl Mang disappears (I cried my eyes out).

To make it short, the show started very well and as a fan of the fantasy genre, the cinematography was really good. The ML did a good job as the cold and bad, and I liked the first six episodes. And then, little by little it gets boring cause nothing is happening, we loose the death part of the ML's character, the plot relies on pratically nothing and I struggled to continue watching, hopefully there was the second couple to root for. And finally in episode 12 and 13, it gets intersting again. And I finally finished it.
The Ost, the potential, the characters, (unless kevin, when koreans use a foreign character it's not well made in general and this is no exception) were incredible to start with, that's why I gave it a 8.5, but it could have been better with a more profound story.

I loved all the characters chemistry with each other

So many times I wanted to drop it. But I'm a person who never drops a show, even if that show is the worst. I liked the cast chemistry with each other, whether it's a romantic relationship or friendship or sibling relationship.

Laughed when Cha Joo Ik connected that scumbag spelling of "manner".

Loved how casually Cha Joo Ik asked Tak Dong Kyung about her scumbag ex.

Kim Sa Ram was sexy with that shock reaction & the smirk he gave after hearing Tak Dong Kyung saying to live together.

Loved how casually Kim Sa Ram called Tak Seon Kyung as brother-in-law & Tak Dong Kyung as honey.

Loved how Kim Sa Ram kept on merging his house with Tak Dong Kyung like it was not a big deal.

Tak Dong Kyung searching on Google for how to love is funny.

Laugh at how Tak Dong Kyung keeps on watching Cha Joo Ik.

Tak Dong Kyung keeps on saying I can love him.

Cha Joo Ik had every answer to everything, had to win every argument.

It was sweet when Kim Sa Ram bought flowers for Tak Dong Kyung.

People around Tak Dong Kyung whether it’s her best friend or brother, are all cry baby. Their reaction was the same when they learned about Tak Dong Kyung illness.

The way Tak Dong Kyung ran from her aunty was hilarious.

Jealous Doom is cute.

Loved the scene where Ji Na said to Cha Joo Ik that he was sexy, then denied it. This scene made me watch the drama & I also thought that he was a demon.

Laughed at the scene when Tak Seon Kyung called brother-in-law & both Kim Sa Ram & Cha Joo Ik saying which one.

I loved Cha Joo Ik & Tak Dong Kyung interaction the most. I want them as a couple in a drama. I also loved the lead chemistry.

It's worth your time

Whoa! this series makes me think what will I do if I only have 100 days to live? seriously! it really makes me ponder hahaha and this series will make you reflect to value your life and time. anyways I really loved how the story unfolds the twist and plots, the romance between the lead character plus the romance on the second lead characters caught my attention in fact I am more interested on how and who she (Na Ji Na) will choose hahaha (as the lead couple don't have a love triangle so the outcome is obvious). on top of that the humor they add to add color of the story! if your curious about the ending all I can say it has a smooth ending.

Igual My Demon, mas menos legal

My Demon copiou esse dorama descaradamente, o estalar de dedos, segurar o pulso da mocinha, e por aí vai. Mas My Demon é mais superior, a história foi melhorada, com atores melhores e mais bonitos, com mais comédia e suspense que combinam bem com a parte da fantasia da trama.
Desgraça a seu dispor tem um quê de interessante no que diz respeito à reflexão filosófica sobre deus, destino, morte e tudo mais. Mas peca demais num aspecto que não da pra ser ignorado que é o romance. Não passa batido assistir marmanjos 30+ com frescura pra ter contato íntimo qualquer desde beijo, abraço ou mesmo segurar mãos. O casal principal é uma tristeza de acompanhar. O grande destaque vai pro coadjuvante Lee Soon Hyuk, ele é lindo e muito talentoso, e aquela voz grave não deixa ninguém falar o contrário! xD

A Kdrama with actual meaning!

Before I start writing my review, I want to say something! I keep seeing people dislike shows if it's slower paced, and the meaning of the story wasn't spelled out loudly! I know in Kdrama land, most people want shows real meaning, just cute romance and stuff, and I'm not saying this drama is perfect, it is not perfect, but I've read so many comments and reviews saying, it's boring, the writing is bad, there are plot holes, and they hate Nyeo Shin, because she's EVIL!

So, now I want to dive into, why EVERYONE is wrong! At least in the base of the story!

1st: There are ZERO plot holes in the story, you just didn't watch the show carefully.

The main plot is that Dong Kyung has brain cancer, and she's gonna die in 3 months, and in one day everything goes sh-t, so she wants the whole world to end, and that's how Mr. Doom appears. Form here is obvious, I mean, this is a Kdrama, of course they will fall in love and other things, BUT that's not really the main plot here. The main plot is people have to realize something important, and it is the circle of life! There's a rule, so to speak, and you can't change it, doesn't matter how hard you try or want to. There are no EVIL characters in this show. God Girl is not evil, she actually loves humanity, she's literally died millions of times for humanity! She's helping the two lead characters to finally understand what's important, who they are.

People say there is no character development! What did you watch? The fact that Dong Kyung sacrificed their love for the sake of humanity, and Saram (Mr. Doom) finally understands and accepted who he is, and most importantly why he was created in the first place, is a MASSIVE character development! Not to mention the fact that Dong Kyung finally became her own person. She's not doing what others want, she stands up for herself finally.


2nd: It's not boring, it's just slow paced!

People HAVE to learn the difference between, slow paced and boring, because it's not the same thing. It's okay if you don't like slower shows that's more like a slice of life than a pure comic book fantasy drama, but don't call it boring!

It's not always the writer's fault if the viewer can't understand the meaning of the story!


Now, let's start my review!

I'm starting with the obvious. This show isn't unique, it's not like we didn't see anything like this, BUT the way they handled the story IS unique! The two main lead, Park Boyoung and Seo Inguk carries the show, and they're the main reason why it's working, but I have to say, Jung Jiso as the God or Goddess is on the same level, too! She may look like a little girl, but her aura is like the most experienced person on Earth! Honestly, I don't think the rest is matters at all, because all the sub-plots, and side characters are uninteresting. I mean, Dong Kyung's brother isn't bad, he grew on me eventually, and he wasn't really a 1 dimensional character, but he wasn't outstanding. The same goes for Na Jina.

The rest are absolutely forgettable!

The main plot is what matters the most, and it carries the whole show, to be honest! Is this show about: "Love wins all"? Kind of, but not in the same way as many other Kdrama did it, because it's not just about romantic love, it's about parental love as well for BOTH main character! The show is about PATIENCE, ACCEPTANCE, and UNDERSTANDING! Maybe you don't like the rules, but it doesn't mean it's bad!

Anything that you can get easily, it's not worth it! Is it a cliché? YES! Clichés are bad? NO! People just love to use this term as an insult, but clichés exist for a reason. It's the truth, basically!


My biggest problem with the show is the side characters, the lame love triangle, and the ending. Not because it was bad, but because it was like they cut the ending. It was weird, especially because they mentioned the wedding so many times, but it never happened. I mean, it's not like the wedding is necessary, but if I hear about it for 4 or 5 episodes, I want to see it or at least show me that they are married now after a time jump or something.

But the weirdest thing on this was that Kevin guy. I know Koreans love to use western people in their shows, but if they can't speak Korean, or the Korean characters can't speak English, I don't see the point doing it! It was hard to watch every time he was on-screen!

It's also worth mentioning that the OST is good as well! I wouldn't say, it's outstanding, but it's good.

Overall, this is a good drama, with a meaningful message, and yes, it's slow paced, and if you don't like these type of shows, just skip it, but if you want to learn something new, it's made for you!

I'm pretty sure we can find MUCH worse Kdramas on this platform with MUCH HIGHER ratings without any meaning whatsoever!

Why is this "doom at your service" a must-watch drama?

I kept contemplating whether or not to watch this drama, as few of the reviews that I read online talked about how boring this drama was, but TBH I found this drama quite to my liking. You won't believe but I felt the same type of sadness I felt after finishing the drama that I felt when I completed watching DOTS. I really think that you should give this drama a go I mean even if you don't like this type of genre or plot, what's bad in at least trying to get to know the drama a bit first. In my opinion 16 episodes were too less for me and I wish there were more episodes but that's fine because I think now after watching this drama I have found my type of genre. Well I hope I helped you out in some or the other way. ?

AIRDROP A PUNCH TO ME, IF YOU DIDNT LIKE THE DRAMA IN THE END

I do not know what YOU are looking for in a kdrama but Doom At Your Service has got it. I mean maybe they fell in love quite quickly but....it was still worth it. This drama gave my tear glands a mind of its own...like those babies were malfunctioning. Everything was beautiful all the characters were charming: Seo In Guk's weirdly super attractive features to Park Bo Young's adorable expressions and smile to Lee Soo Hyuk's especially bewitching poker face and beautiful deep voice... gursh. Plus the chemistry was everything!!
Trust me, I have watched a couple of bad kdrama's this year and Doom At Your Service certainly didnt make my director and cast murder list.
So, darling
give it a watch!
You can come beat me if you didnt like it.

one of the beste k-dramas I ever watched

So, first of all, I know, a lot of people didn´t like this drama. This was one of the dramas that while was airing I couldn't wait to watch it, cause I like to wait till it's all out so I can binge it. The actors, I already knew Park Bo Young (female lead) from other dramas and I liked her so that was a plus, and Seo In Guk (male lead) was a first for me. Both of them were amazing, the way they made us feel what they felt was incredible. The support cast was okay and their story was meh. So, the story itself of the leads was what drew me to this drama.
Attention: SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!The fl (female lead) is a web novel editor whose life seems ordinary until she is diagnosed with brain cancer and only gets a short time to leave. In that, she also finds outs that her boyfriend was married and is humilliated by his wife. Also, her mother is in another country with the fl stepfather. With that, she is frustated with the world and ends up drinking...a lot to the point that she makes a wish. She wants the world to end. It so happens that the wishes related to doom and caos are heard by Doom itself, a sort of demon/god. Doom hears her wish and since he wants the same wish appears before her. He tells her that he can make her pain go away and in return to ask her wish. To keep her pain away they have to live together and so it begins their love story. The fl always tries to stay away from him and Doom keeps pestering her to the point that she comes up with a new idea, to make Doom fall in love with her, which actually happens, but so does she. The thing is Doom is tired of his life and wants it to end by ending the world but when he falls for the FL he decides do sacrifice himself to cure her disease. He does sacrifice but when he does that, god which is portraited by a little girl feels like Doom finally became good and brings him back to life but this time as a human. So the leads end up together and both health. I have to say there are two flaws. First, I disliked that Doom didn't keep his powers, they were amazing. Second, the support cast's story was kinda meh, it wasn's that interesting so I ended up skipping it a bit. Besides that, I can't point any flaw, it's a kind of hate to love drama and with fantasy which makes it amazing. I really recommend this drama. This onde and Vincenzo are my favourites of all time.

I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE ELSE SAYS! JUST WATCH IT

I AM NOT SURE WHY THERE ARE SO MANY MIXED REVIEWS!!?? I THOUGHT THIS WAS A GREAT SHOW. IT WAS DIFFERENT FROM THE OHHH SOOOO MANY THAT ARE OUT THERE. MAYBE THAT IS WHAT ATTRACTED ME TO IT. THE ACTING WAS GOOD, NICE EYE CANDY! AND TYPICAL OF KDRAMA THERE WAS SOME TEAR JERKING INVOLVED AND I REALLY DIDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW IT WOULD END RIGHT AWAY LIKE I AM TEND TO DO THEN I LOOSE INTEREST. I WATCHED ALL THE EPISODES WITHOUT FEELING THE NEED TO JUMP TO THE END SO THAT RIGHT THERE IS A GOOD SIGN AS I HAVE A TERRIBLE HABIT OF WATCHING A FEW EPISODES AND THEN WATCHING THE LAST ONE TO SEE IF IT WOULD BE WORTH MY TIME. JUST WATCH IT

Amazing story line, got amazing cast

I gave 8.5 because of the lead actors were so good acting and looks , wonderful pair.
The second couple also looks wonderful, but they have very little screen time, they even could have matched the main lead.
There was a jump in the story , where didn't show like how they fallen in love , but suddenly they starting feeling in deep love and ready to sacrifice, Most of the episodes are like that only, some time it feels like repeations, instead they should have focused on how they fallen in love . The story line and the cast was so amazing, it could have been one of the best korean melodrama .

what i enjoyed most in the drama is park boo young is really cute and so beautiful, and male lead also good looking and compatible to her., even the second lead couples are very good looking, and acting was great too.
