Paradox. My feelings for this drama are a big and bouncy paradox.
I'm not lying, this is one of my favorite korean drama but, at the same time, it's the one I hated the most!
See? That's a paradox. The cruel irony behind the love and hate for this story.
You can actually describe this story as “The most pain in the back love story of the latest centuries.”
It breaks my heart calling this drama like this but it's the sad truth.
The drama started so well and got me hooked by the very first seconds.
Two kids with both sad stories. Fell in love, a tender love, but some complications and tragics plot twists break them apart.
Ok, let's say it clearly.
When they were kids they were two adorable cupcakes.
But right after 5 episodes, they grow up and that's when troubles starts for me.
The main actress can make you fall from your chair while trying to drink some Belladonna and kill yourself because of her awful and exaggerated acting skills.
That's probably the reason why I don't like to watch a lot of korean dramas.
The huge amount of tragic and sad scenes meant to break your heart but,in the end, just make you ask for mercy because you just can't handle those pathetic scenes anymore.
I can't write spoilers, so I'll just try to let you know what “pathetic” scenes are.
Crying, crying every single time even when it's not needed.
Why do koreans cry so much in drama? That's a mistery to me.
Trying to take revange on a man for what he did ( or not did) when they were kids.
Kids get scared, it's not a fairytale so why being such a bitch with him for something ( something really terrible) that has happenend to you when both of you were SCARED KIDS?
But that's not the most stupid point here.
If you have watched this drama or at least you might had step on some spoilers you know that both Lee Sooyeon or Hwang JungWoo kept thinking about each other for the past 10 or 15 years.
When it comes to write down a character's personality I think that korean screenwriters shouldn't put tragic past on a character's life just to make you sympathize with her or him.
I'm not saying that tragic pasts are not allow but at least try to follow the string that connect the present and the past of a person without completely change it just because she's interacting with his “prince charming” ( let's call it like this.)
The female character is those kind of girls that had to handle with a terrible sequence of goings-on that traumatized her life. When she was a kid ( she was actually a 15 years old but to me you still a kid at that age), she had a really bad mother and she was living in a really bad and cruel surrounding. But, here it comes the prince charming.
The male character is a rich boy who might be living in a golden castle but has a rotten family.
A father, that is the real bad guy here but screenwriters just made you think that Harry Borrison is the cruel boy here, who loves is son just because he's the next head of the family. A stepmother who just think about her own child.
Both characters are alone somehow so they just became friends.
But korean drama's world have to be a really tragic and sad world, so something really terrible happened and they split.
So, why am I talking about their pasts? Because their past is the only thing that I liked about the plot.
When SooYeon grew up she tries to, just for two episodes though, take revenge on Jungwoo.
And ,let me say it again, it's a stupid and childish revenge. He was a kid, a kids get scared, as I said before.
But that's not the main plot.
Let's focus on the real thing.
The plot is actually complicated and intriguing but because of those two main characters I couldn't enjoying it so much.
People call it a love story, but to me this drama just make you see how “good characters” can be ignorant about some kind of mental diseases and be portrayed as “heroes” of the story.
I think that SooYeon's mother should have been punished too.
But, it's a korean drama, so this little thing just get lost in the middle of the drama.
But now, let's talk about the main star of this story.
Harry Borisson is, in my opinion, one of the best villains on the kdrama history.
Seungho had a baby faced beauty on that time. He was just a 19 years boy but he had to play a 27 or something man.
His character was the only one who was well portrayed here.
He's evil, mean, a psychopathic killer and a kind of stalker, obsessed with the female character.
Like all characters here , he sicks revenge for what they have done to him and his mother.
He's SooYeon's saviour but, even though she thanked him in the end, I still think that all this drama characters didn't really try to understand him and his actions.
There are three main victims here : Soohyun, Jungwoo and Harry.
BUT, screenwriters are as dumb as a donkey so they just made you sympathize with those two characters.
Harry is the bad guy but , God, he's a freaking victim too and 'till the end no ne tried to understand it.
It's a drama so everything is fictional but I still think that dramas have to stuck to reality as much as they can.
Here, you just spit fire for Harry sad story and sad ending.
All victims should have a happy ending, here not all of them had one.

I should start by saying this should have several trigger warnings. It contains multiple types of abuse, and the 2nd lead is manipulative throughout. That being said, the way this story was developed was so touching to me. The two lead characters had a beautiful beginning, and some of the drama's best scenes are right in the start, with Kim So Hyun and Yeo Jin Goo. They did a magnificent job at getting you hooked to their relationship, and their dramatic scenes just destroyed me. So, so, so much talent.
Yoon Eun Hye and Park Yoo Chun were also brilliant to me. They didn't have an easy job following the young leads, and they had so many difficult scenes, but they excelled at all of them. The supporting characters were so endearing, too, specially Jung Woo's work BFF, his boss and his young sister.
If you can get through the dark parts of the story, there are many light moments. I was suprised at the amount of lovely scenes the two leads ended up having, while dealing with all the tragedy. You'll probably cry a lot with this drama, but you can definitely expect romance and giggles, too!

What makes this Drama brilliant is the crash of an innocent and pure first love with the struggles behind their lifes plus the misfortune. Having in mind the history developement is very unrealistic its beggining was brilliant and absolutely raw. The kids cast made an oustanding performance and in general the first episodes are pure gold. However as the series progress it keeps graduallly falling on nonsensical situations and unnecesary drama until the end.
Adult cast was Good but I think only Yoo Chun had the opportunity to shine.
Until episode 15 or so it was amazing, even with the decreasing level of sense, however, after that I sincerely think there was no need for more.

This is the type of story where everything that can go wrong in life GOES WRONG LIKE HELL.
The first 2 episodes where so sad and it really got to me, so the start makes you want to watch more because you kinda want to get out of that dilemma that is created...
through certain events this all "going wrong as hell"-moment develops into a progress to get back on track and deal with emotional scars and bad experiences in the past. So THANK GOD, at the very last episode it had a good ending, not for everyone of course.
The characters are all very tragic, there are so many incidences no one could forsee and which slap you in the face. The only thing that bugged me was the dwelling and looong crying which at some point got a little too much. I know I wrote that everything went wrong at the beginning, so it's understandable for the characters being very vulnerable and not stable. Sometimes it annoyed be a little bit though.
The acting was very good, one could really feel the emotions which were transported. I liked that the characters made such progress during this drama and some stayed the same, as life goes...The feelings were all there right in front of you.
The music wasn't the best for my taste, so nothing special there to write about from my side.
Overall I think it's a really good drama, very tragic and it will definitely make you cry. After this I kinda need a drama which is only comedy because this is really really dramatic and kinda gets to you.

good story with all emotions...since it is melodrama it lacks comedy though...
so you have to bear 21 episodes with a strong heart...
but overall the story is good and worth watching....
Cast
honestly i love the child actors most...they were cute yet they showed all the emotions..
but all the actors did a great job to make those emotions while portraying different relationships...
Music
it had good music and there was one song which sums up the whole story.
Rewatch value
since i don't reawatch i'm not the person to talk about that..but i feel it will make u tired since its a pure melodrama.
Overall
apart from the basic story i really appreciate how they portayed the story with no meaningless moments..they skipped situations which is not that required for the story ..so it made the drama shorter...
And i love the way that they showed how the lead pair was looked at everything in a optimistic way after taking away all the bad memories from the audience,,,
MISSING YOU is good melodrama..

The cast is fantastic, amazing, awesome. All of the child actors and adult actors did a wonderful job portraying their role. Everyone is also really good looking :P
No but really the whole cast (okay except for one) had amazing acting skills!
This drama also had one of the best osts. I really loved all the songs and they fit in perfectly well in the drama.
The story line was perfect. It has almost everything I was looking for. 1. lots of drama. 2. lots of romance 3. good ending <- this is important. There is rarely a drama that has a awesome ending and many leave holes and questions unanswered. I miss you does not leave anything unanswered and had the perfect ending. There are some sad dramatic moments but there are also many cute romantic and funny scenes.
I really recommend this drama for anyone who likes overly dramatic romance dramas, you will love this drama. Oh but warning: you might need a box of tissues.

Writers want us to cry, cry, cry. Then cry some more
I remember watching this in 2013 but found the middle too draggy that I've decided to just watch the ending. Rewatching this 10 years later and was tempted to do so again because I still found the middle boring and repetitive. The story started with our tragic 15 yr old Suyeon who was treated as an outcast and labelled as a murderer's daughter. She was befriended by the charismatic Jungwoo and romantic feelings between them started to grow. A kidnapping led to their separation and Suyeon was declared as dead but Jungwoo refused to accept this. Now, 14 years later, he met Zoe (Yoon Eun Hye), a woman who reminds him so much of Suyeon. Jungwoo (Park Yoochun) is trying to make her admit that she is Suyeon but Zoe insists on living with Harry (Yoo Seungho), the man who saved her when she felt so abandoned. However it seems that Harry had secrets, secrets related to that kidnapping.
When the adult versions were first shown in the drama, I actually wanted Zoe to be with Harry. Eun Hye just seems to have more chemistry with Seungho. It was when the Harry's character development got worse and worse that I felt bored with the drama. The cameras became the deal breaker for me. I wouldn't have minded if the FL was aware of them from the start but she wasn't so it felt icky. I guess it was a trend in old dramas to make the second lead so bad that you'll be forced to root for the ML-FL loveline but I still couldn't because I can't believe that she can throw away Harry. So in the end I would have preferred that she not choose anyone.
Will I recommend this? If you just want to have a reason to cry or see a long haired Oh Jung Se, then go ahead. Will I rewatch again, I'll definitely say no thank you.

Mades this drama wonderful
Male lead actor i totally dislike for park yoo chun
Harry played by Yoo Seung Ho is amazing
The original soundtrack is wonderful i love them all the soundtrack
The childhood's actress and storyline far far far better than their adult's.
A little sad watching why the female lead felt in love to the guy "like that" has no guts in defending her..
I wany to kick the male lead though

Another YUCKY brain dead love triangle!
Comically over dramatic and another YUCKY brain dead love triangle :/The first 5 episodes were the worst, how did they manage to hook the viewers! No wonder they were teasing short snippets from events that will happen in episode 18. It's bullshit how many traits/habits/quirks they gave Soo Yeon for the ML to identify her, we get it she's the girl.
Hyung Joon presence was exhausting, an obsessed mentally ill rich dude who always plays the victim and seeks pity from everyone in every possible situation. Even the character's actor wasn't that good. Meanwhile, Jung Woo is arguably the worst cop/detective you'll ever see in a drama. The dude got beaten up and lost to every thug he went against. How did this weak-ass-bitch graduated?
One more thing, cringe ending :/
