In my opinion, the drama got downhill for me when it started to incorporate the revenge and chaebol aspects. I couldn't even watch the rest of the episodes without fast forwarding, that's how downhill it got to me. Of course, I loved past Jisu and Jaehyun moments like nearly everyone else but the plot was so convoluted with these subplots that wasn't even needed! I hate it when a drama that could've been good without chaebol and revenge plots suddenly has them, I just hate it. The first few episodes were really good until Jae Hyun's wife decided she would be a total bitch, even teaming up with Jisu's bastard ex-husband.
The flashbacks were the things I really enjoyed as it showed how deep of a scar their break up left on Jisu's heart, making me understand why she was so cold towards Jae Hyun in the first 6 or so episodes. And helps open up the characters' past, the drama did flashbacks so well.
This drama could've been a really good romance drama if it didn't turn into a damn revenge-thriller in the later episodes. Honestly disappointed, I enjoyed the first 4-6 episodes and I truly wished this drama would've just been a normal drama about two people slowly reconnecting with each other after long years of not seeing each other. But nope, someone had to take a picture of the two kissing in episode 4. Of course this romance drama needs a subplot like this! Definitely!
Music was a saving grace to this drama too. Remember the music that played when episode 2 begun during the "Found you, Yoon Jisu." scene? That brought tears to my eyes. And so does the rest of the pieces this drama used. Just wonderful and pleasing to my ears. That's the only thing I would give a higher rating than the rest of the drama's aspects.

Romantic! Creative! Rewatch Worthy!
By far, this is one of K-drama’s greatest! The story is well-written, acting is superb, and the mixing of eras is appropriately entwined. I’ve probably watched “When My Love Blooms” 8-10 times. The viewer witnesses a warm love story, amidst lover’s quarrels, foe clashes, joy and tears. The college years are clarifying, enabling us to understand the strong connections between major characters. The actors fit the parts, lead couples were well-matched, and the storyline made sense. Each time I’ve watched, I’ve always seen another piece of the story, missed before. It is a true romance, that blooms and grows to oneness. For me, this is one of few K-dramas that tied up loose ends and left me satisfied. I especially enjoyed the movement of the story. Great directing!Considerați utilă această recenzie?
Mature Love, Deep Inquiry ❤️
When my Love Blooms was a refreshing Spring in a deserted land, an oasis upon which the cracked hearts may blossom again. In this drama, we take a look at the true nature of Love and the Human Spirit through the lens of time. I loved, sighed and cried throughout this series and largely base this review of my experience throughout the journey.Joo Yi Tae and Lee Bo Young became two of my favorite Korean Actors as their characters strive to find their way back to their hearts and to that which truly mattered within their Being. As they navigate the real chasm of their current life, back to each other, they have to face the long forgotten or denied aspects of themselves through the mirror of each other.
Their younger versions played by Park Yin Young and Joen Seo Nee were endearing and moving. Their fresh, youthful idealism was delightfully portrayed as they came into themselves, who they wanted to be in this Life, and felt true Love for the first time.
The writing and directing highlighted the perseverance of Truth in their Story. I was touched by the beautiful imagery throughout. It was sometimes heartbreaking and at others cathartic. All in all, very satisfying to watch.
Highly recommended. It is rare that we get to examine a deep, mature experience of Love such as this in a Korean Dramas, which often favor the youthful infatuation stage of coming together. I truly appreciate this type of work.
I hope to see Joo Yi Tae and Lee Bo Young continue to be cast and work with production teams that will continue to show and develop their talent as artists.

Great Drama
This drama made me laugh, cry and feel heartbreak for the main role actors. The young couple and older couple did an excellent performance. I could feel their pain thru their acting and certainly was rooting for Yun Ji Su and Han Jae-hyun. I have become a fan of Kdramas and watch them daily. Thanks to the writers in writing such a great story line and the actors for the excellent performance in transitioning the words on paper to an entertaining drama. I will definitely watch this again.Considerați utilă această recenzie?

Connections between the past and the present is very refreshing plot to have!
At first, I watched this drama because of Park Jinyoung of GOT7 (I am an IGOT7) and I know that he is very versatile both in being an idol and in acting. This drama is very refreshing for me because of the romance and drama in both past and the present is very reflecting. Han Jae Hyun and Yoon Ji Su in their 20's is better for me than in their 40's but it doesn't lessen my interest in this drama! There are many happy and sad moment in their pasts but its strikes once again in their present coincidence. One of the lines in this drama is this: (I found you, Yoon Ji Su) and it is very warming expression/line that captivates me everytime Jae Hyun finds Ji Su. The OST in this drama is very refreshing and great especially Choi Youngjae's OST Part 2 (well I am an IGOT7) and also I can't deny the fact of being a fan because it truly shows their talents and skills. When My Love Blooms is one of the best romance drama this 2020!Considerați utilă această recenzie?

A good story, no fluff.
I like a serious, interesting story, including bittersweet love about mature people. I didn't even mind the flashbacks as it progressed the relationship, and not in a confusing way. These two have good chemistry and portray mostly somber personalities, indicating maybe their current life not so fulfilling. So far I'm enjoying alot! If you're a moral purist probably not for you, I'm of the idea that you should live your best life. Mature adults shouldnt have to sacrifice their happiness.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
