My ID is Gangnam Beauty (2018)

I've watched this series 3 times already.

I know the acting is not good, I have seen a lot of korean drama and Cha Eun Woo is definitely not the best. The acting is stiff, the emotion is not being delivered well, every scene he gives the same face, even I had 0 intention to watch rookie historian goo-hae-ryung because of him. The FL is not that good either, maybe she is slightly better on delivering emotions, but the awkwardness between both of them is very cringy. The side character story also quite boring, especially Do Kyung Soek's sister, did not care about her at all.

But somehow the story always brings me back to watch this series all over again. I love the story so much and I can feel the main character's insecurities. The story brings out the reality in the current situation. How the beauty standard is playing a large part in one's life and how we need to accept ourselves without thinking about what people think, how society needs to shut up and stop giving anyone pressure about appearances.

Well I hope the portrayal of such a strong story had been given to stronger actors, but this series is all I get and I will keep getting back to it anyway.

Is a mediocre drama but is not the worst, I actually liked the last episode, it was interesting and you could see development for some characters. The main idea of the series is lost and contradicts itself. They could have done much better with this main idea. It was hard to watch because sometimes it was soo boring but even so I continued watching and it was not worthed it. The best character was Sua, she really had a development (though only in the last ep) and a history. The main character and the male were kinda boring and without a personality too. Personally I dont recommend it, but idk, the ost was good :) The only reason I watched was because of eun woo haha.

This drama was my "during pandemic drama." So it has a special place in my heart.
The story depicts the society we are in as of today. From the overly beauty standards that have been set and those judgements that will receive for those people who will not meet those standards. I enjoyed it! This was the first drama I saw Cha Eun Woo act and I must say that he did well. Im Soo Hyang, one of my favorite actresses, did so well portraying Kang Mi Rae, from cautios and insecure to confident and inlove lady. Interesting story plot and characters! Kudos!

Well, the story was good enough to become a top drama , it talked about the youngesters' problems and the importance of inner beauty and how we could encounter the nuts minded people in our life ,but honestly because of two main actors it didn't work , the others were good but the two firs lead roles played so amateurish that ruined the drama completely. The chemistry didn't work , their face expressions were horrible and They were not able to show the details of their characters and the true emotions at all. The lead man despite of his very handsome face , was not comfortable with his character and made it a robot instead of an introvert character . I watched him in The best hits and he was good there but here he couldn't do it honestly. The first actress should cover him with her experience but she was stuck in her role too . So the result was such a mess when we watch these two especially in the scenes they were together . I score 8 just because of the less cliche story and the other actors who played acceptable.

la cirugía le dejó tiesa la cara a la mina parece pq no hace ni una expresión en toda la serie, la historia de amor no es taaan creíble pq NO TIENEN QUÍMICA la protagonista hizo que todas las escenas fueran incómodas con su cara, amiga, estás con el que te gusta y tienes cara de tener ganas de ir al baño. El prota también podría moverse un poco más, aunque a él si le creo un poco más que le gusta ella tampoco se mueve, son unos tiesos todos, mucho capítulo de relleno, aunque no me caiga mal la protagonista, por sus expresiones me desesperó en varias escenas,

I love the storyline and I love Cha Eun Woo. I think everything he touches turns into gold. Since I am watching a drama date back in 2018 is why I gave a lower review. Not saying this drama deserved a better rating. The reason why is those who watched this drama should have learned how NOT to be a bully. This is 2022 and bullying still exists! I hate when these young adults and some grownups bully on looks, weight, education, and the color of one's skin. This is sad in 2022! I am glad this drama showed bullying. Thanking the writers and actors/actresses for bringing this storyline to life. Thank you!

L'histoire est intéressante car elle traite de la façon dont la notion de beauté fait pression dans la société et particulièrement chez les jeunes. L'intrigue globale apporte un regard sur le fait que le désir d'être beau, aimé et de se conformer à la norme peut avoir un aspect rassurant en évitant d'être la cible de moqueries liées à nos différences. On aborde aussi le fait que l'apparence physique est parfois un biais qui fausse notre jugement vis à vis des autres. L'idée est de parler d'acceptation de soi, d'amour propre et de libération du regard des autres. On aborde aussi la notion de respect de la femme via des thématiques de sexisme ou de harcèlement.
La morale de cette histoire est belle et c'est d'actualité. Même si ces thématiques sont peut être moins abordées en Europe l'amour de soi et l'acceptation, la peur du regard des autres sont des enjeux internationaux.
Par contre le triangle amoureux est loooooooong. Les personnages sont mignons tout plein et c'est beau de les voir s'ouvrir aux autres petit à petit. Mais ils avancent vraiment lentement, en vous attendez pas à des histoires passionnées ici les personnages prennent leur temps. Les relations sont douces et sensibles, très prudes. parfois on a un peu envie de les secouer mais en même temps leur naïveté est touchante. C'est plutôt un drama a regarder quand on cherche une histoire touchante plutôt que de l'action (sinon ça risque d'être énervant ou frustrant). Par contre j'ai aimé la fin qui est simple et qui ne représente pas un fan-service trop important.
PS : Im Su Hyang qui joue Mi-Rae a 27 ans (il me semble) et même si elle a l'air plus jeune que son âge elle détonne un peu avec Cha Eun Woo (que je trouve personnellement très beau mais ce n'est que mon avis) qui du haut de ses 21 ans à l'air très innocent. C'est perturbant au début mais on s'habitue !

No es un drama que te atrapa y quieres continuar mirando. El productor, quizás intento llevar ciertos aprendizaje pero, el drama lo miré bien tontoy como hacen ver a los actores más tonto todavia, comenze a mirarlo porque tenía curiosidad por ciertos puntos que le miré que le dieron pero miro que fue por el actor principal que es guapo, es todo luego no tiene más nada.

Bueno un final bonito es lo unico, hasta llegue a pensar que iba a mirar un buen romance pero la manera tan totnta que pusieron a los personajes principales, me desconecto.

No sé qué busca mirando este Dorama pero no tiene nada de nada solo un actor guapo, que quizás ellos actuaron como le sugerimos un director.

FOR ALL THE HATERS OF MY ID IS GANGMAN BEAUTY, THIS IS AN OPEN LETTER

Okay first and foremost I rewatch this kdrama two times and it feels the same. I do not know why people put this like their worst kdrama. I suspect they don't even watch this yet they judge this. I want to point out some scenes that are just remarkable making this kdrama a good one.

First - the backstory of Kyung Seok ( Eunwoo's character) ' s mom and Mirae ( Soo Hyang's character): I literally cried that part because of the way she cheered up mirae when she was on her lowest point that makes her want to suicide.

Second - the character improvement of Soo Ah (Woo Ri's character) : this part is prolly my fave - I also myself went through this phase of being a pick me girl or what u call that - but soo ah at the end of the kdrama gives justice into her character . Which reminds me of this quote"it's better to be late than never"

Lastly - The mother's love *sobs* I love how their story went well and the reason why the mom of kyung seok sprays her perfume all over her body --

All over this is not your typical kdrama -- haters are just saying this is not good or whatsoever because they hate the fact that mirae had a surgery - so what people it's already 21st century let them be what they want to be

C'est ennuyeux !

Bon , j'ai bien aimé ce drama , le plot twist de base est plutôt intéressant . L'histoire commence assez simplement ce qui est " mignon " . Mais le problèmes cest qu'au fil des épisodes l'histoire deviens ennuyeuse et ABSOLUMENT PRÉVISIBLE! Ce qui est dommage . Et bien évidement le personnage principal féminin est toujours sans goût , sans personnalité. On a l'impression que sans son petit ami elle ne peut rien faire ! Je n'ai rien a dire concernant le casting car j'ai découverts un nouveau-né du monde du kdrama (cha eun woo ) . Les musiques et les décors sont tout a fait correct . Je vous conseille de le regarder que si vous n'avez réellement rien sous la dent . ~~merci~~
