Favoloso!

Go go squid! È davvero un drama eccezionale, di quelli ben riusciti sotto tutti gli aspetti.
Le musiche sono fantastiche e spesso mi accompagnano in macchina mentre vado a lavoro.
La storia è originale con la presentazione di questo mondo a me finora sconosciuto, di gare di hackeraggio.
Il cast è sublime con Li Xian che tiene in piedi tutta la storia. Il carattere esuberante di Tong Nian infatti viene esaltato proprio dalla presenza di Han Shangyan e della sua estrema serietà. Il team della K&K presenta cinque ragazzi unici e speciali i cui personaggi vengono ben presentati e sviluppati, tanto che nemmeno li considero secondari all'interno della storia. Xiao Bai spicca insieme a Grunt.
Infine i contenuti. Credo siano davvero importanti e caratteristici di una cultura così diversa dalla nostra. Innanzi tutto questa usanza di sposarsi entro i 30 anni che pare essere molto sentita in Cina e che in questo drama viene così fortemente ricordata. Ma soprattutto l'idea che nonostante una sconfitta si possa ricominciare. Questo drama è un incitamento a non arrendersi e riprovarci, a credere nei propri sogni e al cercare in tutti i modi di realizzarli. Insomma a 30 si è vecchi per sposarsi ma non abbastanza per arrendersi alla vita 😜

I made it to episode 10 before I gave up. Maybe I'll go back and finish at some point, but I can't watch any more. I have several problems with this show:

- The premise of esports seems cool and exciting, but I was pretty bored. A lot (A LOT) of time is given over to flashbacks that really drag and don't really reveal much about what's going on presently. Most of the info in the flashbacks could be condensed or even skipped over. I ended up skipping most of the flashbacks and I didn't find myself confused at all.

- Pretty disappointed in the main character. They hype her up to be this cool genius computer programmer who's also a hugely popular singer, so I was excited because I love talented main characters. Unfortunately, most of the time she's just running after the guy and acting like a total idiot. She never really seems to understand what's going on and doesn't stick up for herself. A lot of reviewers criticize her clothes, but I didn't have a problem with that as much as her terrible lack of personality.

- The pacing of the show is really strange. Certain unnecessary parts take up half the episode, while parts of the show that I'm interested in are skimmed over. I skipped through all the boring bits, but I realized that I was fast-forwarding through at least 60% of the show. Not worth it.

I don't understand how people are saying that this show is exciting.. It's pretty slow. I stuck with it hoping it would pick up, but by episode 10 it should have. I would watch more, but other reviewers got as far as episode 12 and said it was still boring.

I tried to hold in and watch the drama because everyone says this drama is good, plus it has a good rating, but I just can't continue watching it. I tried my best, but watching 1 episode feels like forever. The storyline is so boring, and nothing new.. Cold male lead, who acts cold because of his past, and clingy female lead.

I dislike the FL character, idk maybe I don't like characters who acts all cutesy and innocent on the outside, but she stalks the ML and basically spamming ML messages. I get that she likes him, but if ML is the one who acts like that, I bet this drama would've been considered a "toxic relationship" drama.

I think overall this drama is overhyped.. In my opinion, maybe just maybe, if you like games, and gaming drama, you might find this drama interesting, but I don't understand a thing. It's different when I watch You Are My Glory, it's about gaming too, but I understand most of it.

Moreover, I'm just saying, in my opinion, C-Drama now days has too many gaming drama, idk it's just boring..

La verdad es que comencé a verla como tres veces pero no había manera de que me enganchara. El comportamiento de Tong Nian me sacaba de quicio y me avergonzaba a partes iguales. Han Shangyan era el típico borde tsundere de cualquier drama asiático, pero quién le culpa, si la FL no para de seguirle...
Tuve que ver como 5 capítulos antes de decidir seguir.
Puntos positivos:
- engancha bastante.
- está chulo ver el bromance de los miembros de K&K.
- solo por ver a descubrir al actor Lin Xian sonreír, ver a su personaje desarrollarse desde un tipo desagradable a otro que no para de sonreír (¡y qué sonrisa!) ya vale la pena.
Puntos negativos y/o mejorables:
- Esta serie es ñoña hasta morir.
- Los últimos diez episodios se hacen eternos. Hubiera sido más que suficiente con 24 episodios.
- La ropa de la protagonista (y su amiga Yaya) es sencillamente terrible, excepto si vas al gimnasio o eres atleta profesional.
- Los besos pueden resultar tiernos, pero a veces dan un poco de grima (aunque el ML lo intenta...), porque parece que a ella siempre le pille pensando en otra cosa. ¡Y el ML tiene 30 años! Nadie aguanta con 4 besos ni a esa edad ni con 20.
En resumen, está entretenida, el romance de la pareja principal no está mal (aunque a veces sea preferible no mirar mucho por vergüenza ajena), es mejor el de Yaya y Little Mi. Pero, en cualquier caso, no es exclusivamente esto lo que hará que continúes hasta el final. La dinámica entre los diferentes personajes es bastante buena y hace que la serie merezca la pena.

In my opinion an overrated drama. It's just mediocre.

First of all, what I liked most about this drama is it's OST song "杨紫 牛奶面包 Yang Zi - Niu Nai Mian Bao".
The story itself is ok. I like the acting of the main male and female lead. They are cute.

However the rest of the drama is quite annoying:
You could tell the whole story in 20 episodes as well without omitting content. Too many annoying memory scenes. Viewers are not stupid and forget previous scenes that quickly!

The game battles are not shown in a realistic way, the game itself neither.

Several foreigners appear in that drama. Yes, they probably speak Mandarin well, but they can't act at all!

at first i watch this drama in a video song then i watched it recently in we tv......i think this is the most beautiful love story ......both han shangyan and squid were awesome ....they are so adorable.....and their chemistry is totally spellbound.....i like them bcj shangyan is being honest about his realationship.....he is not good at making people happy...bt after he felt in love with squid he was totally carried away...and squid loves him so much and she never doubts him.....if you dont watch it it will be a real miss of you......you can see how two people who don't know how to love someone gradually fell in deeply love with each other and how love can change a person little by little..... You can see how love grows between them slowly and finally they get married .....

Real english title: Go Go K&K

The main problem with this cute (but often boring) c-drama in a sentence: "At his house doing chores, I'm so happy!" Yes, FL actually said that. C'mon girl... The title (at least the English translation) would suggest that FL is the main character. Instead, she simply exists as a cute accessory to ML. The drama is about him, his growth, his journey. FL, despite occupying many scenes, serves no purpose. She is a cute ornament busy being worried about ML, putting on makeup, making coffee and serving all the men in the drama.

What I liked: the first few episodes are really funny, FL and ML have great chemistry, ML is really handsome and all the scenes with the K&K team guys are adorable and hilarious. They are the real heart of the drama.

Go Go Squid is a cute gaming and romance Chinese drama about the trending E Sport Industry. The main characters of this story are a popular online cover singer, and a legendary professional gamer who is also the boss of a professional gaming club. This story is about the challenges in the E Sport Industry, and the budding romance between a cool introverted professional gamer and a cute extroverted online cover singer. The cast did a great job pulling off their characters and the soundtrack was good. I would recommend this drama regardless of whether you are a gamer or not. I'm not much of gamer myself but I still enjoyed watching it. The only thing that I wish to see is to see the main male lead compete again in the arena at the end but that didn't happen which is unfortunate.

a pop culture romance story that is not too believable

i think this series as a whole can be described as a cutey-lovey-dovey kind of series. it is generally light-hearted, the kind of series that may be for a certain type/s of audience, but not for another type/s of audience. this series is more on romance story that is supported by the esports plot/sub-story. it is one of the very few C-drama that I've watched without fast forwarding any episode, or skipping an episode. the acting of several characters notwithstanding the main characters are enjoyable. there is no character that evokes strong disgust or annoyance, which is a pleasant welcome. if you watch it without being too analytical or critical, then the series becomes more enjoyable.

the main female character can be paralleled to the common trend of fan-idol worshipper who has a deep crush with the idol. sometimes i feel the main male character mistreats the main female character. sometimes, i also feel as if the main female character is objectified, maybe from the way the character is supposed to act/dress/behave.

one of the things that didn't make much sense for me is how realistic is it for a doctoral student who knows programming language, and who is interested in artificial intelligence to be so clingy, meek/docile, and be an obsessive idol worshipper. the female lead is even willing to bring down her own sense of self-worth or dignity for a man who sometimes mistreat her. of course in love, and in real life, there is always that possibility that such a character exists.

to a certain extent, this series reveals much more of real life than it realizes. for examples,
+ percentage of female esports players groom by esports competitive clubs;
+ percentage of professional female esports players in the industry;
+ obsessiveness and fan-idol worshipping;
+ typecast 'acceptable' female characteristics/behaviors (meek; docile; subservient; etc.)
+ the under-represented frequency and seriousness of emotional/psychological abuse on women in the society
+ etc.
