I guess its only to blame the other dramas that aired together with this show otherwise they would have made it a bigger hit.
It is not your typical "this is going to happen" kind of show, not really predictable unlike some other shows. Actors be it they are main roles/supporting roles/young actors, they are all amazing imo. Especially the killer and main casts. The killer gives out the perfect 'aura' around him whenever he talks and it just get on my nerves. Young actors/actresses had really good chemistry besides the adult version too! Totally love the boy just like how i loved him in Pinnochio, aigooooo~
He's gonna be a next big star like Yeo Jin Goo or the rest!
I would definitely rewatch this drama in a few years time because i would say it's worth my time being thrilled by the father. It's probably better than Defendant to me because it has the essence of fluffiness from the main characters that everyone's missing.

Okay, I have more to say now.
I've watched a few crime dramas before and enjoyed them so I thought I knew what to expect from Come and Hug Me. But I was very very wrong. This is not a crime drama, this is a drama about fighting for every grain of happiness you can find in life. Yoon Na Moo and Gil Nak Won suffered so much during this show but never gave up on living. It would have been very easy for then to decide to become terrible people or at least gaurd themselves from caring about anyone for fear they would just end up losing them, but they never did.
I am trying so hard not to spoil anything by using vague language so I will just say that both Na Moo and Nak Wok forgive and love people at times when forgiving and loving is the most difficult thing to do, and that was beautiful to watch. Yes, there is romance, but even the romance is done in a way that shows you how selfless and caring both of these people are. And thankfully, their selflessness was never once portrayed as a weakness. It made them stronger.
Yoon Na Moo's father was by far the most evil character I've seen in a drama. He was filled with so much hatred and violence. But as bad as it was when he physically hurt people, the emotional torment he put his victims through was much worse. It didn't matter if he was behind bars or not, he always found a way to increase their sufferings and I hated him for that. This means the writers and the actor portraying him did their job. And he wasn't even the only character that evoked these strong emotions in me. All the villains had me waiting anxiously for the moment they would finally get what was coming to them. I know I'm invested in a story when I care that much about even the bad guys.
But as ugly as the villains were there was just as much beauty in this drama. Yoon Na Moo's mother was just as beautiful as his father was ugly. This woman loved her children with every thing she had. And the best part is that her sons were not related to her by blood. Sometimes TV and movies neglect to show that blood has nothing to do with true family and this show went out of it's way to prove that. Almost all of the true relationships in this show were not connected by blood but selfless love. This is a message I can get behind!
And of course the way Na Moo and Nak Won loved one another was beautiful. While I would have understood Nak Won not being able to be around Na Moo because her reminded her of his father, I was so happy that wasn't the case. So many people, including Nam Moo himself, judged him based on his father's crimes so the fact that she never did was a breath of fresh air. She loved him because of who he was. She knew he was a great man and refused to allow his father to change how she felt about him. She lost so much thanks to that evil man, and I was happy she didn't allow him to take Na Moo away from her too. There isn't a ton of romance in this dram, but when it happens it was very welcomed and impactful.
This drama is not for the faint of heart. It's very violent from beginning to end, but the violence is not used simply to shock the viewers. It serves a purpose.
I could go on and on about this show for several more paragraphs, but I will end this review by telling you that the ending will not disappoint. Everyone may not end up where you thought you wanted them to, but they will end up exactly where they belong and there are absolutely no loose ends. So watch this drama and then either ask for or give a hug to someone who loves you because hugs can be very healing.

It speaks volumes of the actress to be able to work so well with so little. She is really lovable and sweet without really a script to support her work. More experienced actors were not able to do such a good job with their "cliche" characters.
I wanted to write this review prior to watching the last four episodes of the drama, because I didn't want it to be affected for wether I like the ending or not. I have to confess I have not dropped it out of curiosity for the ending.
Sadly this drama was not worth the hype.
Edit. To be fair, the last two episodes address some issues with Jin Ki Joo's character, and explain her trauma and lack of communication. However, not enough, in my opinion, to justify such a treatment during the whole drama. But I was able to understand the intentions behind the writing. And I liked the end, so gave it one more point in my rating. :)

Slow burn that never fully ignites
While I did enjoy CaHM for what it was, my goodness was this a slow drama. Nothing particularly happened, as you were repeatedly shown flashback after flashback. Anything that happened in the present storyline could’ve been fit into six episodes or less. True to the drama’s name there were so! many! hugs!! The leads paired well, they had rly good chemistry! Of course there’s the childhood connection trope, so the romance was always there, but in different forms. I also liked the side characters, but tbh they didn’t really do anything. The main villain…although he was spine-chilling, there are definitely more well rounded villains out there. Without going too much in depth, I’d say watch this drama if you have time, but the slowness in the drama’s story development might be a turn off.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
You Are My Salvation
I am writing a review after ages and that itself is something which shows how much I liked this drama.Keeping the review short and insightful I would say that first of all that the story of the drama is really good.
I've watched a lot of Asian dramas but it's been long since I encountered such a gripping story.
This is probably as far as I know the start of fame for the main leads and I guess after this drama they do need to be praised.
I have literally cried many times during their interactions in the drama and that makes this worthwhile. I never knew Jang Ki Yong was so good in expressing emotions and being my first time watching Jin Ki Joo, I was really impressed by her acting.
The way both the lead actors carried the emotions of guilt, sadness and sorrow was heart touching.
You can just see the chemistry between them by seeing them look at each other.
After seeing Heo Joon Ho in the role of Yoon Hui Jae I cant imagine any other actor performing this role better. One can literally feel the obsession that a psychopath has through his acting.
The pacing of the drama is very good and episodes being of 30 mins, you wont feel it dragging even a bit. I at times feel tough to binge watch hour long episodes of dramas but with such intense and interesting 30 mins episodes, I could easily binge watch 4-5 at a time. The story keeps flowing without any fillers or such as far as I remember.
OST of the drama is also quite good. Not one of the best I've heard, but surely good enough for me to not want to skip it.
One thing I feel about the drama is that if you start liking it then you will surely love it till the end but if you dont then it will be tough to continue with the episodes.
Personally, for me this drama is a masterpiece, and I won't compare it to any other drama. It is surely worth trying cause it is not a common story that you may find. This was an initial major role for both actors and they have their poured their heart in this drama and you will surely be able to see it.
In the end I feel no drama is a perfect 10 but everyone has their own taste and everyone has dramas they want to give a 10 to.
For me this truly deserves a 9.5
There are some parts where it might feel some decisions of leads or some things could have been different in the drama but honestly I wouldn't change anything. The ending of the drama was so meaningful and so apt for the whole story and there couldn't have been a better closure to this.
P.S. Feel free to tag me or message me if you want spoilers as I tend to avoid giving spoilers in my reviews.

It's been so long since I have written a review, I barely know where to begin! This show has quite a mixed bag of ratings. It seems as if people either loved it or really hated it. I definitely think this isn't a drama for everyone, but you might be surprised at how much you end up liking it. Buckle up, I think this is going to be a long ride. I have a lot of feelings :p
Things you have to love in order to give this drama a chance:
Long, tense silences full of longing gazes.
Lack of clear motivations for bad guys.
Very little character growth.
A lot of crying. And I mean A LOT.
That all sounds pretty critical, huh? But it's really not! I enjoyed this drama a lot, but that doesn't absolve it from its drama sins. I think it's important to be forewarned so that your expectations aren't shattered.
This story is sad. But, unless you just went in completely blind to the synopsis, I don't think that would be a surprise to anyone. This is some heavy stuff right here, so of course it is going to be sad. However, there are dramas that deal with similarly sad, heartbreaking stuff, and they manage to find a good balance between melodrama and levity. And while there are quite a few cute, happy moments in Come and Hug Me, the majority of it was just silent longing.
The real problem with this regards depth and character growth. There just really isn't any. Well, one or two characters might have developed and grown throughout the show, but for the most part, everyone is pretty stagnant. This really hurt the drama, because it meant that it was harder to connect with the characters.
But it's not just the heroes and their lack of character development that makes it hard to connect with them. The villains have their fair share of stagnancy, in terms of motivation. There are so many characters doing bad things without really explaining to us why they were doing them. For example, the reporter. Why on earth was she so hell bent on destroying lives? And the lady toward the second half of the show, why the heck was she so hell bent on watching the world burn?
Alright, alright. That is a whole lot of negative for a show I legitimately enjoyed. The acting in this drama was just absolutely top notch. Just about everyone really blew me away with how much they were putting into their roles. You know how sometimes when you watch a drama and you can see the script in your head, cause the actors are just following directions, not really connecting. This was so not the case with CAHM. I never once was pulled out from the drama by thinking about the script.
The music was really good, too! It really fit the tone of the drama really well. This drama reminded me a lot of Missing You, so if you like that drama, you might want to give this one a try. And there is a scene, of which I am not going to mention specifically here that felt like it was pulled from I Hear Your Voice.
The last 10 or so episodes is what really made this drama great. Earlier episodes were just fraught with so much guilt and anxiety. And the last 10 episodes are, as well. However, you have so much more cuteness and levity at this point that the drama was sorely lacking.
All in all, I really did like this drama. It kept me interested throughout, and I am really glad that I gave it a shot in spite of some of the comments I read about it. Seriously, if you like sad dramas with lots of crying and some murdering, this is the drama for you!

Very long and the plot should be more simple...
Well, I love happy endings. When that happens, usually in rom-com's, I don't really care about the plot and coherence. This drama has a beautiful romance (despite of repetition, useless flashbacks) that endure a sad and horrible story.
But it's too much for me.
STORY - Monotonous, one note with too many protagonists. Older brother, journalist, copycat guy, woman In love with the psychopath. Don't understand why Jang Yong always let the copycat loose. How can a coo protect his paradise like that?
ROMANCE - beautiful and strong. After healing themselves, they understand that they could and deserve being happy, no matter what society thinks.
ACTING - very well done, most of the cast was very good.
MUSIC - can't remember any song so...
ENDING - slow, with most of the characters stories being closed. Like it but ( and I like romance) it was very mellow without necessity.
Some loose ends, some incongruence in the plot. Can't understand why blood relations have something to do with personality or psychopathology.
I would never REWATCH it. It is tooooooooo long, I found myself wishing I could skip some scenes. But I think I like it. At least the idea that the couple and the families have future!
If the drama is more about feelings and hurtful moments, I prefer a simple story. With this kind of acting, a shorter drama, should be better!

Ele sabia a dor.

Jang Ki-Yong and Jin Ki-Joo Are Both Perfect for Their Roles!
Definitely a masterpiece! My pick for the best drama in 2018!To be honest, I started Come and Hug Me with little to no expectations at all. This was my first time watching a drama with new and upcoming actors, and I must tell you that I'm totally impressed. Both the male and female lead immediately captivated me from the start. Now, I understood why Jang Ki-Yong won two awards: Excellent Actor for the BaekSang Arts Awards, and the Best New Actor for the 2018 MBC Drama Awards.
The story got me hooked until the end. Nak Won and Na Moo told an emotional story of love and loss. The main leads might be newbies to the mainstream world, but they were able to convey such intense emotions. Their facial expressions needed no words because they shone through the TV screen. I must say that Jang Ki-Yong and Jin Ki-Joo are both a revelation. They are perfect for their roles!
Each episode had a purpose to the main story. Even if it was an emotional rollercoaster ride, I did not mind going through the ups and downs. I enjoyed every second of it, and I loved every emotion it made me feel. Congratulations to writer Lee Ah Ram for writing such a gem. If you are looking for something new, please give Come and Hug Me a chance. It will surely keep you at the edge of your seat! Prepare to hold your breath, and enjoy this remarkable ride!

Overall, if you are a fan of dark, psychological dramas but still have a heart, this is the perfect drama for you. It has the crime and the painful. memory aspects but also manages to contrast those images with the light of their romance.
This drama fully made me a fan of Jin Ki Joo, and I started gaining more and more respect for Jang Ki Yong as the episodes passed by. The writers and actors for this drama deserve infinite awards for the utter masterpiece they were able to put together.
