ep 11 review

1. The show opens up to the star lords discussing this 'cluster amaryllis' and wondering if it is connected to the 'yang'. A (drunk?) temple leader recounts the legend/truth of the star goddess

2.It seems in ancient times the star goddess fell in love with a mortal from the humankind sect. Feeling inadequate because he could not fly, this lover invented a pair of wings to fly up to cloud mountain (her home). Some jerk of a priest decided this was bad, imprisoned him in the underworld of the abyss and cursed her to never leave cloud mountain (otherwise she would die). Lover boy tells her that (basically) long distance relationship is okay for now because they will meet some day soon. When he finally tried to escape to see her, the priest sent some soldiers done, and after a bloody battle the priest gives him mortal wounds. His blood dyed the cluster amaryllis red, and she jumps from cloud mountain to see him one last time. They die in each others arms. Her tears became the shooting star pollen, which created the wingkind.

3.Now we learn that the yin and yang symbolizes the lovers, whose love surpasses death. Since the cluster amaryllis appeared, it means her lover will 'awaken' soon. The star lords wonder if Tianjun is this lover because love is the only thing stopping him from advancing (but I think it it Tianyi....)

4.Tian Yai Zi (who looks like the medicine man the queen executed) is actually a secret heaven's door descendant. The girl serving Tianjun (he is suffering from fever) shows him some skin and we see she has a strange thing buried in her...this man likes to see it (? kinda kinky)

5.We then learn this girl's backstory--that flower on her back caused her to be bullied and sold to a brothel, and she was treated like a demon. Apparently it is a source of power. Tianjun rescued her...she believes he is the destined lover of the star deity and hopes that she can save him from this illl fated fate. The strange old man tells her that she might be acting rashly and kind of yells at her.

6.For reasons that make no sense, Ling'er decides to leave after the princess shows up and essentially tells her that she should get going because she can't help the emperor or meet the qualifications of empress (I just don't get this girl! she is sometimes smart but then makes these really dumb choices!)

7.so it seems there was a reason for this. As she is leaving she runs into the regent's crew who are trying to take over the burial of this guy whom they killed. She intervenes and is able to manipulate it so that they bury him. Tianyi thanks her and then later explains why his father hated him and why he must be emperor....

*this episode felt a little meh...
